What does it mean to cope, notch, “fishmouth” or “saddle” cut a pipe?
Coping or notching pipe, simply put, means taking one piece of tube and cutting it to fit against another piece of tubing. When using cylindrical tubing, a concave cut from the piece of tube needs to be made, and often it’s necessary to have an angle on the cut to produce the desired result. Read more about what coping and notching means in our blog.
